CRIT
i had a crit to show people what i had done so far.
My aims for my project is to create a vegan takeaway that is as appealing as a greasy takeaway. with a fast food aesthetic.
People gave me some names of already established restaurants that do vegan food in leeds such as;
moggs headingly
groves- vegan pizza
otley road- i am donner
grub and grove- seif street
people said the way to approach it was to be vegan unless stated.
- my next steps are to investigate typical takeaways in order to take tips for my takeaway.

SB2 EVALUATION
OUGD503 - Evaluation Studio Brief 2 collaboration
During the collaborative project i experienced what it would be like working in the industry, I had to put my skillset into use on another persons work. I learnt how to communicate with people in order to get work done. The process meant i had to let go a little bit and listen to other peoples opinions on how the work should be.
The project required strict organisation in order to arrange meeting with my collaborator. And for me to get work done on time for feedback in these meetings.
The projects gave me fresh interesting content as i got to work with work that was not mine so i could get a second view on things. Having someone to critique all of my work also helped the process as the fresh set of eyes would pick up on things that i couldn't see.
I found it difficult to work with my particular partner as he was hard to pin down. During the project he went on holiday to India ad then Berlin and then ended up Breaking his leg. This meant i didn't get to spend as much time with him as i had wanted. I needed more input from him as i ended up with not many photos to work from.
If i had more time i would like to continue to work on Ned’s personal branding. I think i could continue on from his logo and zine by creating him a website, and business cards and maybe even merchandise.
SB1 EVAULATION
OUGD503 - Studio Brief 1 Evaluation
In this module i have learnt valuable skills on working to a specific brief. The module has enabled me to see an insight into how the industry works. It has also built my confidence a lot as i feel like i have got used to how the process works. I know that i will be a lot more willing to enter competitions and briefs thanks to pushing myself in this module. My confidence in my own work
This module was very taxing on my ability to time manage. This is always something that i have struggled with so having so much free time on this module was hard for me. I was forced to organise my time well in order to complete the briefs. I think i have improved this a great deal because of this module. I have gained some useful self discipline habits such as planning and organising my workload and thinking ahead that i know i will take ahead with me into future work.
I think That my book cover was successful, I think the end result met the specifications of the brief well. It had a strong use of typography, and it was current and gave the book a fresh look. It was exactly what the brief asked for.
I was really happy to see my work involved in an exhibition for the 27 club.seeing this happen has given me the inspiration to work at other exhibition briefs as i found the whole process very rewarding.
The GF Smith calendar brief turned out differently to how i expected as i had to change my choice of paper last minute. The specific colour plan paper i was planning to use and was instructed to be used in the brief didn't turn up so i had buy different paper last minute in order to imagine what the calendar would look like. Disregarding the lack of paper, i think the calendar works really well and is very vibrant and fun. The instructions on the back work well and are easily followable from my tests. I think the concept behind the calendar is also very well thought out. I hope that GF Smith see the fun element that the calendar has.
I think my development in the module has been quite poor. In the GF Smith calendar brief my initial ideas look quite similar to the final designs, in order to improve my work i need to spend more time developing my ideas. Similarly if i had spent more time refining some of my ideas for the book cover i know my work would have been greatly improved.
Next time I would like to spend more time developing my skills and continue to enter briefs to push my skillset further. I would like to get some more advanced skills in software such as adobe after effects and learn how to mock up my work better using photoshop. for future briefs i need to work out a better pitch for my work in order to sell it to clients. This is something i think i need to focus on rather than presenting my work to be graded.
ZINE
These are some of the photos that ned has given me for the zine
NEDS STATEMENT
“I am a photography student studying at Leeds College of Art
originally from Bristol. Although my photography ranges widely I have done quite a bit of food photography. I have done some freelance work for Deliveroo. I get given a location and a time for a 1 hour shoot. I direct them to make four of five dishes that are aesthetically pleasing. I then spend the hour placing them how I like and taking photos . I edit the best five and send them to Deliveroo to advertise and promote the restuarant on thier website.”

BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
I wanted to play around with the idea of a 3D book cover that i got from my research. So my first designs are making the typography 3d using layers and changing the opacity.
