PREMIER PRO

To make the video I used adobe after effects. I created layers of video in order to place different things in at different times.

Unlike the first video variation, I realised it would be easier to put the text in as a separate layer so I could just change it to transition when I needed it to.

I used transitions to make everything flow better. The wipe transition the the text and the dissolve transition for the main body of the video.

GIF CONTENT

Be Yourself

Be Energetic

Talk to the right people

Build on trust and transparency

Embellish your accomplishments

These are the Gif's that I plan to use in my video. They are meant to make the subject that is otherwise quite dry have a little bit of humour in order to interest the viewer a bit more.
When I had placed them in the video I realised they all needed to be the same dimensions in order for them to flow well. So I will find new Gifs that are all in square dimensions.

VIDEO DEVELOPMENT

From a stock image of a phone, I created a vector image using my graphics tablet of a hand holding a phone. I made a slide for each point I was trying to make including an introduction. I put these slides into the photoshop timeline in order to create a stop motion animation. I set each slide for about 5 seconds and then exported it to video. From here I imported it into premier pro and added in additional video footage on the top.

This idea has now been scrapped after I received feedback. The new video idea is to have a real photo of the phone and a photo of an office as the background. The video will also follow the same typography and colours as the infographic.

INFOGRAPHIC DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

My new version of the infographic follows the same geometric shapes as the flyer design that ben the managing director sent me to follow.

The first litigation of this design uses stock images I got using the companies Shutterstock account. The typeface is Century Gothic in Bold and Regular and Myriad Pro for blocks of text.

This design is already looking much better that the previous design and fits the brief a lot better. What I am going to change is the amount of what space and some of the shapes.
Receiving feedback I have also been told to change some of the stock images in order to make them more illustrative of the point. I must also put M2's logo and information at the bottom of the graphic along with the source article link.

For the next version of the infographic, I added in an image with the introduction to give it more character. The image ties in the title to the rest of the content. Using the gradient shapes to frame each part makes it flow really well. I changed some of the images to make them more illustrative of the point. The managing director really likes the new images except from the title one and he thinks I should change it to one that is a bit more stylised.

I changed the first image on the infographic to a more stylised one with fits well with the rest of the document.

FACEBOOK PHOTO DEVELOPMENT

While I was waiting for feedback on the infographic I created a quick facebook newsfeed image that would cover the infographic for people to click on in order to progress to the full article.

The content is exactly what they want. So I will develop this into a more corporate style like the infographic. Also following the set typeface and colours.

INFOGRAPHIC FEEDBACK

This is the final initial idea that I showed the managing director of the company. The feedback I received from him was that I should focus the design a lot more closely to the companies personal branding. He said this work is perfect for client stuff but doesn't represent M2 as a brand. Now I look back at it, Sinead, the Social Media manager had given me a slightly different brief to his expectations so this feedback was expected. He thought the content was good and I simply needed to change the typography and change the vector images to stock photographs. He also said I should use the exact colour that are found on other M2 documents. He sent me over an example document in order for me to take example from. Having the actual illustrator file to work from gave me a much better understanding of the brief and all enabled me to easily see the fonts and colours I needed to use.

INFOGRAPHIC INITIAL IDEAS

Before I could start designing the infographic the article need to be shortened and summarised in order to pick out the key information for the infographic. Me and the social media manager sat down and shortened the article together and then when we had finished it we sent it to the content writer in order to check over it.

My first step in the design was to draw out some ideas for the illustrations to go along with the text. The idea was to simply sum up each point in a illustrated way in order to bring the point to life.  My initial drawings I just did simply with shapes on illustrator. I asked the social media director what she thought of them, she really liked them we just tweaked a few things including the colours and also rounded the edges on the shirts of the people in order to make it a bit more stylised.

I personally did not like the style of these images but the social media manager really liked them and told me to stick with them. This encouraged me to continue with this style although it was not actually fitting of the companies branding at all.

Once I had the content I started working on layout and design. The infographic needed to be long so people could scroll through it on a website.
The initial design had the gradient background similar to the M2 bespoke branding. I used my own typeface as I wasn't sure what would be best to use. I wanted something bold and fitting with the illustrations. In keeping with the illustrations i kept the graphic lighthearted and simplistic.

My next step was to alter the layout in order to best fit the content. You can see my progression of placing in the content below. I added the main points in first and developed it from there, lastly adding in the illustrations.

INFOGRAPHIC RESEARCH

The companies logo consists of a gradient fill in red, purple and blue. They also use a grey colour for the words underneath.
The website follows the same colour scheme as the logo. It simply addresses what the company does with a white background and some bold images to go alongside.

The infographic that I am creating will be put here on their website. It needs to have a bold eye-catching style in order for people to want to click on it.

The above images are examples of work that M2 have created and is the type of work they want me to produce for the article they have given me. Speaking to Sinead the marketing manager, she wanted me to create some vector cartoon images of characters for the infographic, similar to the skyr guide to protein.

Existing M2 branding is limited at the moment as they have only just rebranded and are only just pushing out content. They have one infographic so far that I have been able to use for ideas. The style of the graphic is quite simplistic and clear. Using the company colours within the design helps the company branding flow through. The typeface also flows through from other company designs.

My first step of the design process was to get some inspiration of vector people, Sinead sent me this image saying she thought the people should look like these.

BRIEF 10- INFOGRAPHIC

This week I am doing my placement at M2 bespoke, a content marketing agency.
Their website is- https://m2bespoke.co.uk

The company do things such as strategy and planning, content creation, content distribution and social media management. Their clients include, Zurich Travel Insurance, Wimbledon Clinics, Skyr Yoghurt. The company have recently gone through a Rebrand and are looking to increase the amount of social media content they are putting out for themselves. Having a big online presence themselves will help them get new clients.

The branding they follow is very corporate as they are trying to appeal to corporate companies. That is their audience.

This week I have been given the task to create an infographic for the companies blog. The project then has potential to be distributed into other areas of their social media including facebook, instagram and the website.

I have written out the brief:

Elzbieta wants a CV to go in her Mailto pack, she sent me over the content she wanted to include. I experimented with a few layout variations.

We decided to go with this layout

WHITE PRINTER

Breaking my laptop has meant that time is running out to get this project done as Elzbieta wants these for 2 days time. I managed to get another print slot to use the white ink printer onto coloured card. I went to Fred Alders in town and bought some GF Smith 270gsm card. Leaving this to the last minute meant that I couldn't get the exact shade I wanted.
I had to prepare all of my files to fit the printers setting rather than my current full colour files.

The second print using the white ink printer came out much better and I also managed to print out the photos in colour with a different printer.

I used double sided sticky tape for the pockets on the business cards and spray mount to put the backing on the photos. I then cut everything out using a guillotine.

PRINTING

I printed off the mailto pack to test the size. 160mm x 160mm is perfect but I have shrunk the logo slightly.

The final design placed into Indesign ready to be printed.

Unluckily for me the day my print slot was booked the printer was not working and the design did not come out right. I decided that it would not work to print the design out as a block colour on the ordinary printer. I needed to avoid having to print one block colour.

This is the 1st print runs final piece, the colour is completely wrong and also the double sided is unaligned.
