COLLABORATIVE BRIEF

For the collaborative brief, I am going to make my friend Ned from photography a logo and create a zine of his work that he can show people as a portfolio. He has done lots of food photography and recently has done some work for deliveroo. 

I have been collating ideas for the logo playing around with typefaces and layout.

NEDS ROLE

Ned will provide me with his photographs that he has decided are suitable for a zine he will refine them down and pick his favourites. He will also provide me with information on each of the restaurants and write a short statement about himself and his work.

MY ROLE

I will create ned a logo specifically for his freelancing food photography. This will be aimed at potential clients. 

I will also create him a zine of his photographs with information about his work inside that can be used for his protfolio or to show future clients. 

I have met up with Ned to discuss the initial ideas. He really liked the space aged typefaces but we came to the conclusion that they are  not what his brand needs and a more classic typeface would be more suitable. We then looked at some serif fonts but ned throughout these were too boring and he wanted to keep a bit of quirk to the logo. 

i have decided to go with this logo for Ned's branding. Ned liked the balance of it because it is fun but not too over the top. My tutor has given me some feedback and says i should add in some sort of pictogram logo to help it stand out. 

I am going to go with the left design as the typography sits better with the pictogram this way.
