design development of poster

After an interim crit, I decided to choose to use the image of the decorative roof in the markets. I also decided that the typography needed some improvement so I played around with the positioning and typeface aswell as incorperating a third colour into the print. I decided that the poster did not need specific information because the visual language could tell the story for me. I took the phrases that I heard people on the stalls saying and placed it in the form of bold typography on the image. Having this typography over the top of the image will work well when I screen print because the ink can be made traslucent so the image behind will come through and the layers will merge.

Production of my screen print required me to be inducted into the printing technique and configure my design accordingly. I had to produce digital posotives of each layer of the design to expose onto my screen. The printing process was quite time consuming and I had to set aside plenty of time for production to make allowences for mistakes. I also changed my colour configuration to closely atch that of the market labels. I used a neon pink for the colour blacks and a royal blue for the typography,
